    I agree... that's why I was looking for real world locations (which I always like to build in CXL ^^) with lots of water and hillside:

    nah its fine i think, its only a half of the map to fill (and still that could be changed?)
    im more worried its for xxl only so xl players cannot participate

    That's why I offer the height map (.png) or the .r32 file for someone who can do XL maps.
    I also offer to help whoever decides to create the chosen map by providing these files to ease their workload.

    It is roughly 55 sq km. The last challenge had a land area of about 25 sq km to fill (the island without the hill in the center).

    Hey guys,

    regarding the duplication of an existing map: I think it may be cheating in a way that someone could just copy the concept they used for the first version of the map. And in my opinion, the concepts are the crucial part of any city.
    Of course, no one will be able to replicate it one-to-one, but it may be an advantage.

    Now we can vote and hopefully will come to a final result, such that the map maker gods still have enough time to finish the map until the end of January.     There are already many maps in the poll but some suggestions of Jotape are missing.. hopefully he doesn't mind that much (I guess it's not a competition whose map gets chosen but Peniche looks nice, too ^^) ...and I'd like to know who that "Kitsenubi" guy is - he has a lot of great map ideas :LOL:

    yeah, i decided to pick the ones by others that were suggested later cause jotape already suggested one

    There are many good maps, as you have already discussed. I, personally, would like to try Lisboa or Porto as suggested by @Jotape, but they seem almost impossible to complete in three months considering the level of details some of the competitors here would demonstrate (for instance, @Kitsunebi and @kipate :ROFLMAO:).

    I'd go first for Peniche, but you know it's not on the list. Second, I'd follow @Jotape again, Albufeira seems like an easily doable city in three months.

    And last, Picton, NZ looks awesome, it really did inspire me some ideas already. But I am not going to vote fore Picton, as long as the first two are included in the poll. :)

    If you are smart with your camera angles (as you should be) filling up the entire map is an entirely mute topic. Just saying. It is a competition, who care if some finish the whole map and others don't. The 'others' should maybe try harder if they want to compete. I mean, isn't that how it works?

    I would love @ronrn to make the map but for some odd reason the person who has done more maps than anyone is only represented once in the map voting area. If we pick another wildly unrealistic looking map (St. Martin was real but didn't look real at all to me), I will not play. Every single competition map has been incredibly unrealistic to me. Ugh... Time will tell.
