Cities XXL Green dot (save game) disappears from the globe

    So, I was deleting a test city, that had its name next to a save of my city, without ever clicking the larger city save.

    Now the city dot has disappeared from the globe, but the save file is still there.

    What should I do?

    Nevermind, I fixed the issue by using Notepad++ to edit the save file to another new map slot.

    My memory is a little musty, but I did this:

    1. Make a new city using the same map as the desired save, but do not build anything.
    2. Quit the game.
    3. Look for your save folder, usually in (varies)\Cities XXL\live\offline\solo.
    4. The newest save folder is the new city, and the other one is the desired save.
    5. Edit the files checkpoints.cxl, checkpoint.cxl or city.cxl (in the new save folder, including the ones in auto folder) in Notepad++, there's usually a line with 'region' or 'map' with values.
    6. Copy onto the desired save (backup the folder first just in case) the line values from the new save (say the new save Region 8 Map 68 but the desired save is Region 7 Map 71), for example paste these values '8' and '68' to replace '7' and '71', type these in the desired save files. Make sure that values are the same in all files.
    7. Delete the new save folder, so the desired save folder efficiently replaces its place.
    8. Voila, now you have restored your save!
