    The citadel Island. This fortress was built during the 18th century to protect the city and control the river but the citadel was abandoned 70 years later. Now, this place has become a major tourist attraction. Next the citadel, there are the military cemetery of Yekavalov and the "Island Village" with an important muslim minority.
