The problem is that it looks good from above and you can hide the pillars with stones and trees to look good up close. In the picture below, I covered only a few pillars and it looks better, but I will try another version

I tried to make a volcano, but I think i will give up. Although it is possible to recreate the lava easily, I cant recreate the rest.

 

But still! There is hope. "Ka mauna ahi" rises.

I started building on this map after I wanted to show you how I thought to build the waterfall. From there I got the idea to build a city on different levels and the volcano idea came from your hole.

Thanks. I also thought of building some industrial buildings underground for smoke, but a long time a go I tried the no-collision mode and i had problems with it and deleted it.
I built some industrial buildings to see how big the smoke is and I think there is no point in building them in the crater because the smoke is too small, but I think it would look good where the lava flows at the base of the mountain.... Noooo!!!
I think I could make 2 or 3 geysers. For that I don't need so many buildings. Do you know where I can find the no collision mode?

Don't bother anymore. I found a mod that makes smoke but as I thought on the volcano doesn't look good

From far away it looks ok. But the difficult part will be to make the transition from the in game terrain to the base of the volcano
