    My traffic congestion is still green and look at this...

    All of this and the congestion is still green... very clumsy animation but it will look great in my metropoles.

    I've never seen traffic like that even with red roads in the overlay. Are you using some kind of traffic mod?

    Also I don't think it matters whether the cars use all lanes or not. They're just eye-candy drawn in to represent the underlying statistical simulation.

    Go to the options panel, and dig around for the option to minimize density. Clearly, the in-game density will change, but the visual density will change quite a bit (at least on CXL 2012).

    Thats why its called -idiot "XXL" traffic-. It seems that if you have traffic at 100% it doesnt matter if the traffic density indicator is still green, the streets will fill up at all times when you are building for 1 minute without zooming too far out.
