1. If you are going to register on XLNation, please make sure you do not use a proxy server.
    If you use a proxy server your registration will most likely get blocked due to spammers and hackers using proxy servers to hide their real IP address.

    If your using your home or work IP address and have not received your registration email, check your spam folder.

Cities XXL custom map error

    I have about a dozen custom maps loaded in XXL and play several with no problem. I recently loaded the map for the new city building contest. The map opens, but crashes the game. This is the error in the log:

    [18:44:25] CORE mcFile.cpp ( 198) Error can't open file live/offline/solo/SoloSaveRegion8Map76/auto/Save.Commands.xml

    None of my XXL cities use the Region8map76 slot.

    Is there a solution, short of reinstalling? Thanks.

    hmm.. looks to me like a corrupted file...
    did you try it several times by creating a completely new city? or you trying to load an existing one? did you try to open the file manually with notepad++? did you re-download the map?
    sorry, dont have solution yet (+ i dont play xxl, but might be similar to 2012...)

    Thanks for your response, MrX2. I agree, it looks like a corrupted file. I can load any of my existing cities fine. I can play any existing city. I cannot open any other map, in-game or custom. My hope is that there is some specific file or group of files I can mend, instead of a whole new game re-install.
