    go where I store downloaded maps (which folder)

    The Paks directory usually. Find where you game is installed to first, then create a new folder/directory in the /Paks/ named mods. Add any download mods, .patch files into it. restart the game and they should show. Also most mods need the UIM mod installed first.

    Example: C:\Games\Steam\SteamApps\common\Cities XL 2012\Paks\mods\

    is there a possibility that the play on several kernel so it runs only on one?
