I tried The Crater one plus The Green Hills. I can place the stations fine but when connecting the track between stations it always says not enough room for road. Regardless of whether I build stations by a road or out in the open. Regardless of whether I run clock to activate stations before building track or not. Do you have a working rail connection between cities in your game? Just wondering if that's a problem since I don't yet.

 

I got the answer from domengzu to another one of my questions. You need the no collision mod plus a bridge mod, seems that combo helps make the monorail work. I also found out that clicking on a monorail train makes the screen follow it, that's going to make for some nice video footage!
